I work with oils on board for small formats, and acrylic using lot of water on big linen canvas. Two different techniques for two different approaches of the Landscape. One is “a bit” more realistic and earthy in the study of light and colours, with small touches. The other is more gestuel, faster and the fluidity of the paint is used to create transparencies, screens of light and dramatic effects. In both cases I use mostly my hands straight to the canvas or the board to apply paints and mediums, and I work in situ.
The techniques of printmaking confront me with more discipline and drawing, having to work in phases. The pictures forms naturally from accidents in the process of learning the technique and I am startled to realise that some elements I use in painting find their place in a completely different technique.
